Our History: Three Generations Rooted in the Vine

The story of Mylonas Winery begins over a century ago, in 1917, in the region of Keratea, Eastern Attica. It all started with our grandfather, Antonis, whose life was devoted to viticulture and winemaking. In those early days, without access to modern equipment, he would ferment the grape must in clay amphorae—a tradition that speaks to the purity and authenticity of the wine culture of that era.

The next chapter was written by our father, Dimitris, who inherited both the land and the passion. He honored the legacy of his father while expanding the business—acquiring new vineyards and building a small, modern winery. Alongside him, his three sons—Antonis, Tasos, and Stamatis—grew up immersed in the rhythms of vineyard life. From a young age, we played in the soil, observed the changing skies, and learned the language of the vine. Pruning, digging, and caring for the vineyard became second nature to us—so much so that the vines felt like an extension of ourselves.

It was only natural that we would follow in our father’s footsteps. Stamatis and Antonis studied chemistry and oenology, while Tasos pursued economics to manage the business side of the winery.

The modern history of Mylonas Winery began in earnest in 2000. After the loss of our father, we, the Mylonas brothers, took on the responsibility of continuing his work—honoring his vision, yet committed to taking it further, just as he had done before us.

In 2006, we launched our first officially bottled wine under the label “Savatiano Mylonas Winery,” marking our formal entry into the Greek wine market. At the heart of it was our dedication to expressing the soul of our land through authentic, high-quality wines—and our desire to carry the family tradition proudly into the future.
